As with all creative and personal endeavors, knife making is a process.
I choose to work in a very traditional style using simple hand held tools and forging each blade to shape, remove the fire-scale with a hand stone and then draw-file the finished blade geometry. From there I use sandpaper and stones plus lots of patience to prepare the blade for hardening. On occasion I will use limited power tools but there is satisfaction available in working slowly by hand that I truly enjoy.
I believe in working in an atmosphere of prayer and devotion to the object being made. Often I listen to devotional music when in my studio. My focus in making blade-smithing a practice much like meditation allows me to slow down and pay attention to the type of energy I put into each knife. The resulting object is imbued with this energy of goodness and purpose that is not present in a machine-made object or knife.
I invite you to visit here often and check my Blog Page to see what new work is manifesting.
